Hair Dryer Ratings

How much supply in amps do I need to simultaneously run 2 hair professional hair dryers, 2 GHD's, lights etc..

Need to know what level supply to run the following on my festival stall. Includes: 2 professional hair dryers 2 GHD's 1 laptop and printer 1 speakers 1 small CD player phone charger electrical heater various lights clippers They are offering it in amounts of 16amp so I need to know if that is sufficient or whether I need a bigger supply Thanks :-)

  1. It is very difficult to guess with no more details. You really need to check each appliance's requirements. Each appliance has a label with its max rating, either in Amps or Watts. Add them together and figure it out yourself. Example: 2 dryers, 500 W each = 1,000 W (assume they can both run at the same time) 2 GHDs ?? Electrical heater - this can be big... Lights, say 200W x 5 = 1,000 W Say the total is 3,000 W. Using a 110V supply, you need 28 Amps (Amps = Power/Voltage ) 32 Amps can support up to 3,500 Watts 48 Amps can support up to 5,280 W - you get the idea.
