Ionic Hair Dryers Knowledge Base
Do Ionic Hair Brushes and Ionic Hair Dryers really work? Because I'm worried that it's just a gimmick. Thank you for helping! =) Also, can you recommend me any brands to use? Like which can dry your hair the fastest, energy-saving, afforable and gives the most shine for the hair? Last but not least, is it safe to use?
Are ionic hair dryers safe? In need of a new hairdryer, I have searched far and wide (on the world wide web that is) for the perfect one. I've been looking for something that has a lot of options (like different heat and speed settings). Throught my search, I have come across many, many ionic dryers. Most of them sounded like something I might want to buy, but then I came across something that said this: "Ion ozone is toxic: Ion Electrostatic precipitators release small doses of ozone as a byproduct, ozone is toxic and can eat away at the tissue of your lungs. ". So now I wonder: is this a fraud, or should I stick with ceramic? I like what I've read about how ions can help your hair, but seriously, if the ozone thing is true, I don't want my dryer to be the death of me! ^_^
Questions about Ionic Hair Dryers? I have somewhat thick curly/wavy hair, will the Conair Ceramic Ionic Hairdryer work? Will it straighten my hair or does it just dry it? I like it straight better, but it takes sooo long. Should i buy one of these, or just get a better straightener?
should i get and ionic hair dryer? I heard the ionic hair dryers are great to quickly evaporate the water from your hair. Idont know if i should get one because i alway set my hair in rollers first to dry and then use my blower to take out the waves from the rollers, so technically my hair is already dry when i go to use my blower. should i stick to the regular one or will an ionic one still make a difference in my hair even though i wont be using it when my hair is wet?
Hair dryers, tourmaline, ceramic, ionic.. what? What is the different between all those different types of blow dryers? I currently use a Revlon one that has negative ions or something in it? But It leaves my hair frizzy and poofy! I have thin hair that I want straight when I blow dry it.. I don't want it poofy or frizzy.. and anything that isn't over 50$! I don't have that kind of money to throw on a hair dryer at the moment. Any advice would be helpful.. Thankyou.
Hair stylists.....Ionic anti-Static 1875 watt Professional Hair dryer, is it any good? They have these hair dryers on sale for 12.95 from 50.00. They are a door buster sale at a professional beauty place. Are these dryers any good, or better than the walmart bought ionic hair dryer? If you know please let me know, If they are then I was thinking these would make great christmas gifts. Thanks a million. P.s. It's a Helen of Troy brand hot tools professional
Bio Ionic Hair Dryer? Is this type better for your hair than other hair dryers and why? I know they are all damaging. I just want to know which type is the LEAST damaging of the lot.
I am deciding on whether to get a flat iron or a hair dryer??? because i recently heard that using a hair dryer actually straightens your hair....So i'm not sure on which to get...Either a flat iron or a hair dryer? And if I were to choose a hair dryer which kind/type of hair dryer should I get? I've heard of "Ionic Hair Dryers" but...What are they? Thanks in Advance :)
Help Hair-dryers for Tight curly thick frizzy hair? I need a hair dyer for my type of hair , I don't know which one to get. people with similar hair type tell me what hair-dryers you would recommend and ones you would not. Thank you does tourmaline and ionic really make a difference or is it just a gimmick? can people please be specific with hair dryer products thank you
What hair dryers are good for fine/thin hair? I need to use it to add volume to my roots. The ceramic/ionic/tourmaline- I heard this reduces drying time, so thats good.....any brand recommendations? I also want something that isn't super hot so that it scorches my scalp.
Where can I buy a decent hair dryer here in brisbane? Ive been checking sites about hair dryers and they say that ionic ones are the good ones. so ive decided to choose one which was the, Infiti by Conair - Professional Tourmaline Ionic Styler. Model: 213X. It's net price on the website is $52.00USD. Just wondering where i could buy it. Maybe target? Big W? Priceline? Really don't know...
travel hair dryers? 1. Please recommend a travel hair dryer that dries hair relatively fast (I have alot of hair that takes a long time to dry with regular dryers) 2. When looking for fast drying, what is most important: wattage, ionic, tourmaline, ceramic? Thanks
hair dryers??? I have 3 different hair dryers, and I'm trying to grow out some damaged hair. It's growing in curly like it used to be underneath and on top, but when I use my Conair hair dryer it tends to fall or shed or break more than when I use my ceramic dryer or even my Revlon Ionic dryer. However, the conair dryer doesn't seem any hotter and it makes it look better other than the back where all the split ends are growing out and need trimmed. I only wash and dry every other day, and since my hair is half curly and half straight now from trying to grow out a bad straightener and subsequent bad chopped up haircut, I can't let it airdry yet and go out in public. SOOOO, do certain dryers cause more hair fall/breakage than others, and what would be a safe dryer to use until this madness ends? I can't use cool air with this half curly half straight hair right now, so don't tell me t I get trims off of the damaged every 4 weeks, and I'm about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way there but not quite there yet.
Who knows about the best hair dryers to buy? I am looking to buy a new hair dryer. My choices came down to these three http://www.target.com/Conair-1875-Ionic-Styler-Dryer/dp/B000JUV816/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=0&qid=1275528525&searchView=grid5&fromGsearch=true&searchNodeID=1038576|1287991011&sr=1-10&searchRank=target104545&keywords=hair%20dryers&searchPage=2&searchSize=30&searchBinNameList=purchasing_channel,subjectbin,target_com_age,target_com_gender-bin,target_com_character-bin,price,target_com_primary_color-bin,target_com_size-bin,target_com_brand-bin http://www.target.com/Vidal-Sassoon-Anti-Static-Styler-Dryer/dp/B00006498N/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=0&qid=1275528525&searchView=grid5&fromGsearch=true&searchNodeID=1038576|1287991011&sr=1-8&searchRank=target104545&keywords=hair%20dryers&searchPage=2&searchSize=30&searchBinNameList=purchasing_channel,subjectbin,target_com_age,target_com_gender-bin,target_com_character-bin,price,target_com_primary_color-bin,target_com_size-bin,target_com_brand-bin http://www.target.com/Andis-Ceramic-Ionic-Styler-Dryer/dp/B001HZDPVI/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=0&qid=1275528525&searchView=grid5&fromGsearch=true&searchNodeID=1038576|1287991011&sr=1-16&searchRank=target104545&keywords=hair%20dryers&searchPage=2&searchSize=30&searchBinNameList=purchasing_channel,subjectbin,target_com_age,target_com_gender-bin,target_com_character-bin,price,target_com_primary_color-bin,target_com_size-bin,target_com_brand-bin The first one, the Conair, I had before and it lasted a while but started blowing out every time i used it after maybe two years. which will last longest and dry my hair the best. My hair is short and wavy but when i dry it with the brush dryers usually it comes out straight, and that's what i want. thanks!
What hair dryer BaByliss or Solia? I have been researching hair dryers this week quite extensively. I have looked at the Sedu UltraPower hair dryer and it's awesome but I don't want to spend $140 on a hair dryer just yet. So I have also checked out the Solia Thermal Ionic Ceramic hair dryer that is on folica.com for $70, the BaByliss Thermal Ionic hair dryer for $60 and the BaByliss PRO dual turbo dryer for $90. I have read reviews on the BaByliss thermal ionic one and many said it's broken down pretty quickly and sparks start to fly in it. Has anyone purchased any of these? What do you recommend. I want fast drying time that does the least damage to my hair possible. I have read that it would be good to have ionic and 3 heat settings and 3 speed settings with a cool blast option. I also wouldn't mind a concentrator attachment with it. Then going even cheaper I saw on walmart.com this Conair Infiniti Ionic Tourmaline dryer that seems cheaper that may be good as well. Here is the link to the Conair one: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4861133 Thank you so much for your answer! When I was researching I actually read your answer to a similar question and that's where I got the recommended settings for the dryer. :)
Do "ION"- enhanced products really work? I think we all see those products in the store that claim they have Ionic conditioning powers that make the product 100% better. It's everywhere! Hair dryers claim their ionic conditioning actually improves the hair, ionic fans claim to use ions to refresh and deodorize and clean the air. I've even seen a hairbrush that would expel ionic air while you comb to make your hair smell and look better. But is their any validity to their claims that IONIC conditioning even works?? I don't think it does. I think there's no difference whatsoever. What do you guys think?
BED HEAD light me up Hair? What do you think about the bed head light me up ionic hair dryer. Do you find that it helps frizzy hair? Does it create frizzies? I really would like to know what ya'lls experience is with the bed head hair dryers cause i dont think mine is working. Thanks so much
Which hair dryer do you prefer? http://infiniti.conair.com/catalog/category/hair-dryers-9/product/infiniti-cord-keeper-by-conair-tourmaline-ceramic-ionic-hair-styler-223f-68 or http://infiniti.conair.com/catalog/category/hair-dryers-9/product/infiniti-by-conair-professional-tourmaline-ceramic-ionic-styler-213x-17 ? The first has a retractable cord, which is nice, but I read a lot of positive amazon reviews on the second and the amazon reviews on the first seemed to focus on the gimmick rather than the drying quality. I was gifted with the first, with the option of exchanging it for the second, and quick drying and non-frizzy hair are my top priorities. and why? I'm not convinced of either.
Types of hair dryers? I'm looking to buy a new hair dryer. I have long wavy hair and use my hair dryer and/or straightener/curling iron every day. Which is better: ionic, ceramic, or tourmaline? Also do you highly recommend a certain blow dryer? $20-$50 range. Thanks
OMG! Hair Dryers ... Help!? I need a new hair dryer so I went to get one and I'm confused. They all have ionic something or other ... what the heck is that? And none of them have a cool air setting but have a cold shot button ... what's up with that? Do you have to hold the button the whole time to make the air cold or does it stay depressed in place like a toggle? Why don't any of the twenty brands have a cool/cold air setting as something normal anymore?
Quality Hair Dryers, recommendations? I'm looking for a great hairdryer, one with a lot of power to sufficiently and quickly dry long hair. Recently, I went to target and purchased the most expensive model they had thinking it would be good. I was wrong. It's a Revlon 1875 tourmaline ionic. The day I bought it and tried it out, there were problems from the start. It gets incredibly hot, to the touch and burns my scalp. I tried using the cool air button but then the air output is piddly and would take 30 mins to dry my hair. Every 20 seconds or so it clicks and shuts down on its own to a very low air flow. I'm assuming this is to control overheating. Anyway, I'm extremely diappointed and will most likely never by a Revlon again. -What kind of hair dryer do you use? -Is it good quality? Strong airflow, cool air setting? -Does it snatch up your hair at all? -How content with your hairdryer are you? And how much did it cost? - Brand or model recommendations? Thanks for all your input!
"Drugstore" hair dryers? Should I trust them when they SAY ionic-or is it all a scam-do they damage more then pricey ones? (i.e. conair, revlon)
A good hair dryer/blow dryer??? Please Answer! Thanks :)? My (very old) blow dryer broke a few days a go :*( But i'it wasn't that great. it took forever to blow dry my hair and it made my hair frizzy and rough. I want a blow dryer that will blow dry my hair in no time and it makes it soft and smooth :) Does anyone know of a good blow dryer (preferably under $30) ? Please And Thank You! :) ♥SkyAngelzz3♥ P.S i heard that ionic blow dryers dry hair faster and are better for your hair? I'm looking for one that is also ionic! :)
Need a Hair Dryer that dries hair fast!? I have morning swim practices so i only have about 20 minutes to get ready in the morning. I am looking at the Revlon Tourmaline Ionic Dryer. Its about $30. Any other fast drying hair dryers suggestions? Preferably under $30
does this realy work...? http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.conair-store.com/imagesedp/p54435b.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.conair-store.com/Reviews/pwr/product-reviews/Hair/Hair-Dryers/Ionic-Dryers/Conair/208/p/CON__208-Infiniti-Hair-Designer-by-Conair-TRADE.html&usg=__gcmrUvDpdMOO0J_BoXfVQObxqO4=&h=280&w=280&sz=11&hl=en&start=11&tbnid=0XfZNFPtMxxpsM:&tbnh=114&tbnw=114&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dconair%2Bblow%2Bdryer/straightener%2Binfinity%26gbv%3D2%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DX does this thing really work? and can u also explane to me in detail exactly what it does? please and thx!
How do I get super straight hair?? My hair is naturally straight, but I have really long hair past my waist (I'm not allowed to cut it because that's my and my parents belief) so it gets out of hand quite a bit. Is there any non-expensive way i can have super straight hair so that when the wind blows it, it wont get all unruly and out of hand. i know that i could get an 'ionic perm' at the hair salon but they'd charge me around $300 to $500 and my parents wouldn't let me do that coz i'm still 17.. so i was wondering if there was any way to do it without excessive use of hair straighters or hair dryers... becoz i dont want to damage my hair since i'm not allowed to cut it. Thanx to anyone who can help! xxx i dont mean non-expensive, but anything between $50 - $70?? btw.. i dont like to tie my hair up, because i dont look good like that... i could braid my hair, but i like straight hair better tho!
What is the Best flat iron for THICK, CURLY, LONG hair? Also interested in dryers with diffusers? I have a T3 Ceramic Ionic and it's getting a little old... https://www.thecosmeticmarket.com/images/P/NarrowDualityL.jpg I paid more than $160 a few years back when it first came out and I loved it to death, but time for something new. It use to take a half an hour and now straightening time is creeping up to 60 minutes and I usually have to settle with the outcome. I have massive and I mean massive amounts of hair (I am a natural red head if anyone can sympathize - since we usually have enough hair for 5 people). And it is really curly, go figure I prefer it straight. I would like to cut down the straightening time with a new flat iron, but there are so many! I understand a new dryer may help too... I am open to hearing whatever you have to say. (Other Info: I use TIGI BedHead Products and/or BioSilk with my straightening routine) Also... My hair reaches down just past the middle of my back (when straight - to mid shoulder blades when left curly) and has NO chemicals in it because I am donating it to Locks of Love once it is almost to my butt when straight. So I also want to keep it as health as possible for the person who will receive it as a wig. From last year: http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f211/gah57/MyPicture-1.jpg a lot longer now
Why won't my hair blowdry? For some reason, I can't get my hair to get completely dry. I've tried mulitple different ways, and I don't even start with my hair soaking wet. I went to bed with wet hair last night, and I woke up and it was damp, so I tried to blow dry it for 30 minutes, and it will NOT completely dry. I've used two different hair dryers. I had to buy a new straightener, because I broke my last one, because my hair was too damp. Is there any kind of hair product that will help it dry faster? Do I need ANOTHER hair dryer? I've got a Conair Ionic Cordkeeper 1872 [ brand new ] and a Conair EuroSalon 1600. I've tried sectioning it out. I think, my blow dryer may just be a piece of shit.
Which hair-dryer should I buy? I have recently gotten a haircut and my hair falls just below my chin. I need to blow dry my hair in order to get it to curl under my face and not flip out every direction. I've been using my roomates hair dryer, but school ends in a little more than a week, so I will need my own hair dryer. But I have NO idea what type (cermaic/ionic) to buy. So here is some info: I have dark brown, THICK, striaght hair. I hate frizz. I've heard ionic blow dryers get rid of frizz, but I'm not very strong and I'm worried my arm will get tired holding one because I hear they are heavy. I'd like it to be in the $50 or less range. On Amazon there are TONS like this, ceramic and ionic. Please be as specific as possible, and give reasons for your recommendations thank you!
who knows about blow dryers....I want the best one? So i know what a diffuser is, it add volume to the hair, right? So i want my blow dryer to have that. Now I hera this stuff , that there is tourmaline dryer, ionic dryers, dryer w/ postive and negative charge. So I just want a dryer that will be good to my hair, keep it healthy, soft, shinny....Can i have some simple feedback just straight to the point annswers from anyone
I'm buying a new hair dryer. Suggestions? I've been shopping around for a dryer for some time now, and each description says one of three things: "Tourmaline", "Ionic", or "Ceramic". So my first question is what are the differences between these three dryers. My hair is medium length, thin to average in thickness. Sometimes after blow drying it can get a little frizzy and dry. Which kind of dryer would you suggest? p.s. i'm also trying to get one for under $60.
Horrible hair. pleeeeeze help.? My hair is like this: http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r253/snschrader/taylor.jpg It's curly, but not bouncy and beautiful like some people may think. Like in this picture, the curls are frizzy, and some strands of my hair aren't curly at all--they are just poofy and weightless. Yes, that's the problem with my hair--it's extremely weightless and shapeless, and that makes it really puffy, and if my shake my head from side to side it gets all messed up, it doesn't return back to its original style. I've tried everything: de-frizz cream, curl enhancing cream, leave in conditioner, ionic blow dryers, nano-technology straighteners... everything. They all don't work. What should I do?
Which one is better? between these two hair, blow dryers, and why. this one http://www.conair.com/infiniti-conair-cord-keeper-tourmaline-ceramic-ionic-hair-styler-p-642-1_7_65.html OR this one http://www.conair.com/1875-watt-shine-ceramic-styler-p-385.html

I know that there are better brand like CHI and Sedu, etc, etc But this are the ones in my budget so if anyone has had any experience with any of this blow dryers I would love to read your reviews. Infiniti Nano Silver by Conair™ Tourmaline Ceramic™ Hair Styler http://infiniti.conair.com/catalog/category/hair-dryers-9/product/infiniti-nano-silver-by-conair-tourmaline-ceramic-hair-styler-228-19 and Andis Inferno 1875W Ionic AC Motor Dryer http://www.andis-store.com/product_detail.asp?T1=AND+82075&NAV=ANDSTAND Thanks!
babyliss hairdryer? which is best in this brand?? shld i get a ionic one or go 4 the odyssey hairdryer? which is best??? or are there any better hair dryers?? are salon hairdryers better?? if so which one is the best??
I am looking for a new flat iron, so far I hear CHI or Sedu? but alot are saying the CHI breaks within a year. and them some say they have had there's for years. Then alot say Sedu is alot better than CHI, I don't mind spending the $100+ as long as it will last and not damage. My hair is about 3 or 4 inches above my waist, curly/wavy/some frizz. and if I can ask about the protection spray to use first. I am currently using a Bio Ionic ismooth1.5 flat iron and a protection spray from Sally's called ion heat protect. I hear most like the above two irons better than the Bio Ionic irons. and do both of them make blow dryers? I currently have the Bio Ionic idry blow dryer. Many thanks for your help
What is the best hair dryer under $50? What is the best hair dryer under $50? In addition, what do ionic dryers and ceramic dryers do? My hairdresser advised me to get a hair dryer with a concentrator.
What is the best ionic, lightweight hair dryer? Looking for an ionic, light weight hairdryer - I know all heat products hurt your hair, but I'm looking for the dryer that will keep my hair as healthy and split-end free as possible. If anyone has suggestions for brands, stores where I can buy it and also price it would be much appriciated - thanks so much!
Help Me Choose An Ionic Hair Dryer? I have long hair and I want to buy a good ionic (cause I heard it reduces frizz) hair dryer that will leave my hair SMOOTH and shiny. What should I look for in a blow dryer before I buy it to get my hair smooth? Does the amount of watts matter? If so how much should the dryer include?
Any good ideas for a broken ionic hair dryer (brand is hot tools)? I have not even had it a year and it was pretty expensive for some reason it will only go on low heat if i turn it to high, it doesn't work... (shuts off) will go on high cool setting though... Can't figure out why it will do one and not the other any way to fix?? please help!
HAVE YOU TRIED A CERAMIC/IONIC HAIR DRYER? I bought one a couple weeks ago and it's incredible o___0 My hair is so much softer, more manageable, and...it's amazing! Has anyone else ever used a ceramic/ionic hair dryer and what do you think of it? thanks :D
does anyone have that new conair infiniti hair designer tourmaline Ionic dryer? I was wondering if this dryer really straightens the hair while it dries it at the same time. Trying to give my flat iron a rest and I hate using a brush and a hair dryer at the same time. This dryer is new I guess and is selling for $59.99. It's reddish/purple in color with some special attachment that grabs and pulls the hair straight while drying. Please let me know if this works! I want to buy one.
What is a good ionic blow dryer to use for thick ethic hair? I have long and very thick hair. I was using a ION Ionic dryer from Sally's, but after 2 yrs it died and its no longer in stock. Currently I am using a Vidal Sasson 1875 Watt Ionic Dryer. It is a pretty good dryer for the price, but not quick getting the frizzies and drying my roots as well as I would like. Anyone have any suggestions of a dryer?
Should I blow dry my hair before I flatiron it? I want to get an ionic hair dryer. Will blow drying my hair before flatironing make my hair straighter? Will it damage it if I blow dry twice a week with an ionic hair dryer? I air dry my hair. I already know wet hair should never be flatironed. I have a Solia flat iron and I also have really thick super curly hair.
How do you clean a wigo hair dryer that doesn't twist off the back? I have the tourmaline-ionic wigo hair dryer and I am unsure how to clean it...anyone have this hair dryer with the same problem? It doesn't twist off in the back as other one's I have had. I have thought about calling the company but haven't gotten around to do so..So just wondering if there are any ideas how to clean it if you have this product as well. Thanks!
